Dr. Brooke Fairbanks

Dr. Brooke grew up a world traveler, including spending part of her childhood in Switzerland before landing back in New England. During her early years she grew up with pet chickens, a parrot, goats, rabbits, and dogs. But it was an encounter with an elephant, when she was 5 years-old, that set her path towards becoming a veterinarian, (she still secretly hopes to work with an elephant conservation group someday).

After completing her undergraduate degree at Colby College she taught with a program for at-risk middle school students for two years. However, her love of animals called her back to Columbia University for a post-bacc and then on to Washington State University Veterinary School. During medical school she started with one dog, ended with three, while fostering many others.

Since joining East Bradford Vet she has grown her love of rescue medicine and neurology. In her free time she loves going to bookstores, hiking, roller hockey (she has a wicked slapshot with no aim), and failing in well-meaning attempts at British baking show recipes.
